How do I create/send/receive MMS on Starport network?
To start using MMS follow next steps:
1. Make sure that your phone supports MMS. You may find this information in your phone’s manual.
2. By sending your first MMS within Kyivstar network you activate the service of sending and receiving MMS. You don’t need any additional agreements. There is no need to call somewhere and follow up complicated voice instructions and moreover go to the Customer Care Center! Activation is made automatically! Please remember that until you haven’t activated the service, MMS will reach you as a simple text message with a link to StarPort, where you will be able to pick it up.
3. Make all needed settings in your phone so it can send and receive MMS messages properly. For this you just need to enter “Hand Set Settings” section, choose your hand set model and enter the settings described there. If you did not found settings for your hand set model, you may see MMS settings at http://kyivstar.ua/en/personal/contract/services/mms/.
From now on MMS from Kyivstar, ACE&BASE and DJUICE subscribers to UMC, Sim-Sim and Jeans subscribers will be delivered in the form of MMS messages! Not as the SMS with reference to operator’s web-site where subscriber can view received MMS. With exception of cases when MMS is sent to phone which doesn’t support MMS service or this service is not activated on number of recipient. In this case recipient will receive SMS with reference to his operator’s web-site*, where message can be viewed.
*Kyivstar subscribers have to attend mms.starport.com.ua in order to view MMS. In “Phone number” field one has to enter his phone number in international standard form and in “ID message” field – to enter ID number indicated in SMS.
Kyivstar grants an opportunity to use MMS service in roaming for all contract subscribers starting from 01.11.05.
One can use service only in the countries where GPRS roaming is available. At the same time there’s no need to change MMS settings.
Pay attention! In roaming you pay 0,75 UAH for each MMS and cost of GPRS traffic (according to GPRS roaming tariffs), which is used for MMS sending or for downloading incoming MMS.
MMS-sending to numbers of foreign operators is 5,00 UAH.
In order to minimize expenses you can disable “Automatic reception” in MMS settings and set “Manual” or “At request” reception. In this case, phone will perform downloading only after your confirmation. If you don’t want to pay for GPRS traffic – ignore downloading the message.
Tariffs are indicated including VAT and excluding PF duty.
